Importing an edited song into photos . . .
I want to import an edited song from itunes into a photos slideshow but photos only imports the full unedited song. Is there a fix for this?

You could try to create an edited version of your song with GarageBand. GarageBand is now free. You can use it to time a song and to save a new audio file.
