I’ve tried sliding it down from Centre, it’s showing blank screen as it’s showing whole screen is unlocked.

also, have not tried any troubleshooting for this as I don’t know what to do being new to this IPhone

checked in notification settings, have changed settings of banners to ‘show always’ instead of ‘when unlocked’ earlier, but no change.

i think it might be some problem with the phone only and not the settings

Yes, it can, if you swipe downwards with your finger still on the screen. It will swipe open the Notification center when the phone is unlocked. If notifications are not on the lock screen, make sure that you have not unlocked the phone to make them disappear from the lock screen. If you have unlocked the phone, notifications will no longer appear when you tap on the lock screen, unless you have received a new one. What troubleshooting have you tried to fix this notification issue? If you check the notifications area, are you seeing the settings as Temporary?
