I can not see my ipod classic in itunes, i have a old mac pro running 10.13.6 help

Itunes doesn't recognize ipod classic Itunes doesn't recognize my ipod classic when plugged into my pc lap top. The lap top recognizes the device just itunes doesn't. I've tried resetting the ipod, changing it to act as a disk drive... nothing has worked.

Reset the device. Try another cable. While the classic is deemed obsolete by Apple the current builds of iTunes still support it.
