Is this an actual Apple number? Received call that came up as "Apple" even though not in my Contacts.

Apple will not call you out of the blue. Spoofing legitimate phone numbers for companies like Apple and Microsoft is a common tactic of scam artists and criminals.
While that is Apple's actual support number 1-800-MyApple, there are a number of reports for that number being spoofed. Apple will not call you unless you have requested a call. Was a message left?
the number itself is actually an Apple number, the number does not need to be in your contacts to say Apple however unless you were on the phone with apple and they said they'd call you back or you lost the connection then it's a spoofed number and likely a scam. Apple does not cold call phones.
If you received an email or phone call or text message claiming to be from Apple Computer with charges or claims you do not recognize or with requests to provide or change personal information DO NOT click on any links or respond to it.
