Panasonic AJ-PCD20 P2 card reader not working with El Captain

So I purchased an AJ-PCD20 off ebay.

I plugged in to a Mac Pro 3,1 running El Captain. The P2 card icon shows up on the desktop.

I installed the drivers for the device for Mac OS 10.11 according to the website. Followed the install directions.

In FCP 7, I cannot access theP2 card from the dropdown menu with "import."

With an older version of a card reader, this is how I would access the card.

What is the problem and the fix, please.

OK, I figured it out.

File> Open> New Bin

Log and Transfer (not import)

This opens the window and gives access to the media on the P2 card.

Go from there.

This is the procedure to recognize the P2 card with the AJ-PCD20 in FCP 7 running El Captain in a Mac Pro 3,1 tower.

Different card reader, different procedure..

Thanks for your support.

Is FCP 7 the only problem you are having using the card reader? You may need to update FCP 7.
