Every time I try to download an app it makes me choose a payment method, even if the app is free. My card is linked to my phone already and I still can’t download anything. Why?

Every time I try to install something it takes me to my payment options and says my card cannot be verified. I’ve had this card on my phone for months and it’s only recently started doing this. Be certain that card is current (not expired), accurate, complete, and valid in your country or region.
