When I am out of coverage and someone phones me I don’t get a missed call message

When I am out of coverage and someone phoned me I don’t get a missed call message when I get back in coverage. Why is this?

In order for a call to be on the Missed list, they have to actually make it to the device and not be answered. If the device doesn't have coverage or is turned off, they won't be on the missed call list. But the caller can leave a voicemail and that will show.
