2019 macbook pro wifi slow

The wifi on my 2019 MacBook Pro is extremely slow, drops connection for no reason, and just generally really sucks.

Not an issue on 6 other devices, so I don't think it's my network.

The problem seems to be worse when the computer is running on battery power.

You are using 802.11ac, connected on channel 167, on the less crowded 5GHz band. you have signal of -69 and noise at -89, so a single-to noise of 89-69 = 20, a good signal.

You are transmitting at 390 Bits/sec using MCS index 3, which says you are suing three antennas to attain speeds nearly three time faster than the baseband speed of 130 M bits/sec.

Form these indications, you wifi should be very good.

Try an online speed test to bypass by almost all your software and see whether you are getting good speeds out of the Hardware. If you are, some software issues must be the cause of the feeling of slowness.

You can ADD an additional Router to your existing modern router very simply. Just give it the same network-name and the same password. Best performance will be by connecting them with Ethernet cables, if possible.

The way below will work, but burns up some of your bandwidth with Router-to-Router traffic:

In either case, the secondary (not directly connected to the Internet) Router should be set to Bridge Mode, which means it does Not give out IP addresses via DHCP, but merely provides a wireless Access Point.

Eros Routers are NOT required, and are NOT magical in any way (except their marketing, which is brilliant).
