I got a apple macbook pro from some guy. I factory reset it so it wiped all his information off of it. It will not let me sign in using my apple i.d or even go to the home screen. What should I do to get it back up and running? I already bought the macos x el capitain disc and it still isn't working.
If you completely reset the computer, the first thing that should launch is Setup Assistant. Are you seeing that? When the computer won't progress, what are you seeing on the screen?
If it's asking for a password immediately on startup, then it's a firmware password and the only person who knows it is the guy that sold it to you.
