MacBook partition map slices not found

Recently my 2012 MacBook Pro Failed to boot after I let its battery die, it displayed a “do not enter” type symbol, through internet recovery system I was able to run first aid on it and receive the message that: “partition map check failed because no slices were found”

please help me, I have very little money and I need this laptop and it’s files to make more. I also tried to reinstall the OS but it didn’t display a disk for me to select, on startup disk it also didn’t display any disk

I see that you have a concern with your MacBook Pro not starting up like it should. I'll be happy to help out.


It sounds like you're seeing the prohibitory symbol when starting up. If that's the case, make sure that the right startup disk is selected by using the Startup Manager here: How to select a different startup disk - Apple Support.
