Partition Question

I think I have screwed up my hard drive. I used bootcamp a while back to dual boot to windows, i used disk utility to attempt to restore that partition to the main drive and it now shows as "free space" and won't let me format. I have attempted to use disk utility but it won't let me format the drive.

Can someone out there help me ?

Thank You ,

Phillip

You should have used Windows to erase and remove the Windows partition. Backup or clone your macOS partition to another drive, boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down), use Disk Utility to erase your boot drive and reformat back to one volume and reinstall the system. p

When that's complete use migration assistant to copy your data over from the backup or clone.
