Migrating Photos from old Mac

I have an old iMac, barely functional, that includes photos that haven't migrated to Photos on iCloud, so I can't see them on my newer computer, iPad or iPhone. New photos do show up on the old computer. How can I get the complete set of photos on the old computer onto iCloud. Thank you.

Have you tried to enable iCloud Photos on the old computer? If you use the same AppleID for iCloud as on the new computer, the old photos from your old Mac should upload to iCloud Photos Library and be merged into the existing iCloud Photos Library. Photos will check for duplicates while merging the library into the iCloud Library. But the photos from iCloud will also download to the old Mac, so you should enable "Optimize Mac Storage" for iCloud Photos on the old Mac.
