horrible very bad WIFI connection for MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro would not connect to WIFI, while my iPhone, iPad and iMac had stable wifi on the same study desk. Had to carry the macbook really near to the router to get connected, and it would drop 50% of the time when I went back to the desk....

Any reason that MacBook Pro has worse WIFI connectivity than iPhone or iPad? Is it due to bad design or inferior component? It doesn't seem to be a software issue. I observed the same when I updated from Sierra to High Sierra and Mojave. It always has the worst WIFI connectivity.

There are over 100 different model of MacBook Pro issued from 2006 through 2019. saying 13-in does not help describe which model you own.
