Epson scanner upgrades to 64 bits

Who’s “they”? Epson? My Epson printer, scanner, copy, fax software is slowly being updated a little at a time. Use the EPSON Software Updater app on a regular basis to see what’s going on. It may also depend on the age of your Epson product. Your NX625 is a discontinued product and printer manufacturers are notorious for abandoning support for older products.

If you're unable to find drivers from Epson that will work in Catalina give VueScan a try. It is 64 bit and works with nearly every scanner ever manufactured. I used it for a very old Canon scanner and now use it for my reasonably new Canon multipurpose scanner/printer as it's user interface is much better and more powerful.

Ask epson. That is not an Apple product.

I always only use the native macOS Image Capture App to scan from my Epson's.
