Apple Watch 10986

I just purchased an Apple Watch 10986. Watch is asking for an iPhone but I only have my iPad. Will the watch work with an iPad?

Apple Watch absolutely requires an iPhone to setup and use the watch. An iPad alone is not adequate.

just get an iPhone. You cannot do anything for your Apple Watch with iPad. Also I just wonder that you have an Apple Watch, an iPad and you have not an iPhone. It's really uncommon for whole world.
