Are you saying you can't change it in the TextEdit preferences?
Are you saying you can't change it in the TextEdit preferences?
That's exactly what I'm saying.... I go to preferences, open New Doc nad there's all my defaults. When I go to change the font and size, I can highlight it, but when I try to type in a new font or delete the existing default, nothing happens..... nothing....
I see. Well, if you are in plain text you can only change the font and size of the entire document. In rich text mode you can use different fonts and sizes in the same document. A screen shot of your settings or the results may help.
In preferences, do you have Rich Text or Plain Text checked? Here's your text…
I've tried both....
ok - so.... if I'm reading and understanding you correctly, I can change the font WITHIN a text edit document - which I have done - BUT can't change the default font.... ?????????
You change the default font in TextEdit's Preferences as I showed in the first screen shot.
