Water resistant??
My iPhone 8 fell in less than 6 inches of water for less than 5 minutes and now it’s not working. I thought it was supposed to water resistant for up to 30 minutes in 3 feet?
iPhone 8, iOS 12

Looking at their limited warranty, it doesn't seem so.

If it's still within warranty it might be worth seeing if an Apple repair centre will repair/replace but I wouldn't hold my breath.
I understand that but if they’re claiming that it will be water resistant in water up to 3 feet (implying your phone will still work) will they not stand by that when damage is done in lesser circumstances?
It is not water proof. The description of being in water for 30 minutes at 3 feet is under controlled laboratory conditions. Anytime a phone is submerged in water, it will get damaged.
No. Water in an iPhone is classified as damage and not covered.
