Digital Colour Meter on mac is different to the website

When you look at the example in this user guide:

https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/digital-color-meter/welcome/mac

I opened up the digital colour meter on my Macbook Pro 2016 13" (retina touch bar) and compared the colour in the example. The colours are off. Please can someone tell me if the website is wrong or is my app wrong?? please see the example to understand what I mean.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

ZMac93,

I believe that the Digital Color Meter takes into account the Display's Color Profile. When I use the Default Color Profile on my 2018 15" MacBook Pro (Color LCD), I get the same colors as you on your screenshot. But when I follow the link I get R: 190 G: 211 B:232. Which leads me to believe what dialabrain says above to be true. If I change the color Profile to (sRGB IEC61966-2.1) The numbers are still off but get a lot closer.

If you wanted to change your color profile for your display you can do so by Opening System Preferences > Displays > Color (Tab).

Best of luck,

Weston
