why i cannot install microsoft silverlight on my macbook air.

Memory 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Startup Disk Macintosh HD

Microsoft ended Silverlight for Mac development in 2016. Safari 12.1.1 in Mojave no longer supports browser plug-ins. If this is in regard to Netflix, they offer HTML5 streaming video now as an option to the old Silverlight requirement.
