i photo library, i movies are missing

I turned on an old mac that had not been used for a few years. It runs Mac OS X version 10.5.8

There are no visible photos or movies in i photo or i movie. Also, the personalized desk top image seems to be replaced with one of apples default backgrounds.

How do I find my old files?

Have you signed into this computer with the correct user name ? The ⛔️ sign is shown on files and folders, where you do not have the access rights, for example, if the owner of the file or folder is a different user.

Look at the folder "Users" at the top level the system drive. Are there other user accounts? Perhaps you have to sign in with a different user name.
