Apple ID Login Issue

I'm currently trying to update my Macbook but I'm having trouble logging into my AppleID. I just rest my password so I know I have the correct login info. Every time I try to login it either goes two ways:

1.) I type in the correct login and it tells me it is incorrect so I try again and it says its wrong again and asks me to rest my password

2.) the login works and the two-factor authorization code pops up on my phone but the boxes to type it in to appear on my computer - I've tried typing the code into the password box but that doesn't work.

Any thoughts on how to fix this??

What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support     


When you typed into the password box, did you enter the password (ABC) followed by the code (123) or ABC123?
