"smart HDR" on/off iPhone Xr, does this feature really work??

Hello Everyone,

I purchase a brand-new iPhone Xr and noticed that while the alleged smart HDR on that I would not see this on my photos app on my iPhone Xr but I do on my MacBook Pro Photos app; I'm running the latest iOS and MacOs. In the attached photo you will see a photo taken it was with smart HDR on but notice that HDR doesn't show up on the photos taken. I previously had a iPhone SE and I would always see my pictures taken with HDR showing "HDR" photo on all platforms. I can only slightly tell when this is on/off manually but am extremely annoyed and want to know among the trillions of iPhone users in the world if others have run into this issue or have a similar thing. Is this a iOS bug??? I take a lot of photos for example over 15,000 photos so I notice every detail...

On my iPhone X I am not seeing the HDR badge overlayed on the photo, but above the photo on the white background in the upper left corner. I tested this by creating a smart album on my Mac with the rule "Photos is HDR". Then I selected all photos in this smart album, used the command ⌘A to select all photos in the smart album, ⌘N to create a new standard album from the selection, and let this album sync with iCloud Photos to my iPhone. All photos have been showing the HDR badge on the white background when viewing them enlarged. But my iPhone is a iPhoneX, not Xr like yours. It may be problem of the particular model.
