Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Safari Can't Find the Server.

Safari can't open the page "safari//index.htm" because Safari can't find the server "Safari".

The subject title and the above note is all I get when ever I try to open Safari. My internet connection is fine as as Google and everything else functions properly. I have just reinstalled macOS including all current updates and this did not make a difference at all. All articles I find seem to be about opening specific web pages but nothing helpful about the above issue.

Can any body please help me as I have run out of ideas please...?

I am not tech savvy as I just use a computer as a tool to do things for me.

Cheers.

GC.

Hi Ger-C,

It sounds like you have an invalid page set as your home page, so you see this error when you start Safari. I can help you get that changed.

Decide which website you would like Safari to go to when you open it (e.g. http://www.google.com), and follow the steps here:

Change your homepage in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

Let me know if that helps.
