3 monitors on MacBook Pro (13", 2016) - active adapters??

Hi!

I got 3 monitors which I would like to connect to my MacBook Pro.

  • two HP 24" monitors with (1920 x 1080 px, 16:10)
  • one LG Ultrawide 29" (2560 x 1080 px, 21:9 )

My Mac is: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)

On HP 24" and the LG Ultrawide is working fine, but the last monitor isn't connecting.

They are all connected with dongles USB-C to HDMI (passive dongles).

I've tried to figure out how other successfully have connected 3 monitors, and they are talking about 'active USB-C to HDMI' adapters.

Would it be worth investing in an "Active adapter" to see if the third monitor would work?

Or is there some kind of limitation in the resolution for the MacBook Pro?

Looking forward to your answers!

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

There are major differences in those adapters; some only provide power, others data & power, etc.

You probably should check into getting reliable adapters to match the display output or

expected data the Mac would require, and those usually are more complex than passive.

Some types of USB-C docks can work with displays; OWC shows multi-ports on their site.
