I pad mini 5 th gen. Animoji
Some of he web pages say this will work on this new device. The app won’t load, says device will not work. Am I missing something?

Your iPad does not support Animoji, because iPad Mini 5 does not have a True Depth Camera, which is required for Animoji. The only two iPad's which support Animoji are the 2018 iPad Pro 11" and 12.9".
