Adding an App to my OLD I-Pad

I have my old model MD366C/A that I only want to use for a single App that will require a bluetooth connection .

The app is called Volvo Penta Easy Connect when i go to upload it the message comes back my I-Pad is not compatible

I tried software update but comes back unable to update

Any help would appreciated
