keep getting message that icloud cannot verify my identity

Note that to reset your password you will have to prove that you are actually who you say you are, If you have enabled 2 factor authentication you should receive an authorization code on one of your devices. If you have not you will have to correctly answer your security questions. You can contact Apple's Account Security team if you don't remember those answers, and a real human being will attempt to help you identify yourself-->Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support
Note that if you have 2 factor authentication turned on Apple's real live human beings cannot reset your password.
