Hide Message content in notifications on Mac

I know there's an option to keep Message previews as private when notifications come up on an iPhone. Is the same option available for Macs?

Try Sys Prefs>Notifications>Messages>uncheck show Message Preview.

how do you remove text notifications from the macbook pro WHY is my macbook pro all of a sudden showing the text messages from my iphone and how do i get it to stop? thanks

Is there message filter for Mac Messages? I installed a message filter in my iPhone and it works really well. However, while I sync my message with my Mac, the Mac didn't have the similar message filter function. Although I get rid of the notification of junk message in my iPhone, I am still notified by my Mac. Really annoying, is there any ways of solving this problem?
