How can I reset the password?

So I bought a new iPhone XS plus

and traded inn my old iPhone 7plus which I backed up in the store as we were making the new deal on the new phone , now that I’m home I turn my laptop on again and I can see my back up I did today but now when I’m trying to back up this new phone with the data of the 7plus it’s asking me the fallowing

“Enter the password to unlock your phone backup”

and and I don’t have that password how can I reset this password

I am sorry to say if you do not remember the encrypted backup password then nothing can be done.

You need to start iPhone XS Max as a New device afresh
