USB 3.1 GEN 2 devices, connected to Thunderbolt 3 ports
if I connect, let’s say, a Samsung T5 (usb 3.1 gen 2 device) to a thunderbolt 3 port, will there still be transfer rate up to 40gbps? Also, if so, will I have to use thunderbolt 3 cable?

Thunderbolt ports or any other type of ports cant speed up devices made with other protocols like usb3.1 or usb2 or lower
Great! Thanks rudegar
Reason being, a device can only pull as much power required by its protocol allows, and can’t receive the 100w from TB3 port. In turn, slower speeds, correct?
