lock all of system preferences

Hi,

I have a couple of Macbook Pros that I need to have ALL of the system preferences lock. I'd like for when the person clicks on system preferences, that a box would pop up saying something like "you don't have access to this" with the options that say "ok", "allow once" , "allow always" and then we'd enter the admin/password. They both had it, and then somehow they don't anymore.

I can't have anyone changing anything. These computers need to be on LOCK DOWN!!

I have tried security/privacy, and that isn't working. Both do have parental controls on them, but that's not working either. I'm in desperate need of getting this fixed, ASAP.

You go to Users & Groups and set up an account with parental controls. You can exclude apps and/or most anything and when tha person signs into their account, they will not have access to the things you excluded.

I just excluded all Sys Prefs and then restarted and logged into my "test" account. Here are the screenshots - Sys Prefs is excluded:

And here is the pop up I get once I am logged into the test account:

You do need to either restart or (better) shut down/boot up after changing the settings.

You need to use Managed Accounts set in Users & Groups preferences.

I've done that. But I can still get to System Preferences without the prompt asking for the password. I need it to ask for a password. It actually takes me to the keyboard section, and then there is immediate access to all of system preferences.

If you go with parental controls and EXCLUDE access to them, it should work.

The account is set up just as you've suggested. Everything is excluded, yet they can still get into system preferences.

You are saying that they are only signed into their own account and they can still access the excluded items? Does that person have access to a regular account?

I have "require an administrator password to access system-wide preference" checked, and I can still get into all of the system preferences. Even after restarting it, it still allows access. When I click on Services>Services Preferences it goes to keyboard preferences and then I have immediate access to the rest of system preferences.
