Icloud sync

good day,


can anyone in here tell me how my 9k total photo sync to my macbook.

i only have basic icloud plan (5GB).

Recently, my iphone is dead(board issue) and i not do any backup for my photo or my document etc.

This morning i realize all my photo already in my macbook

how on earth my photo inside my macbook i only have basic plan that 9 thousand photo is a huge number with.

can any body explain this to me, in future if my phone gone i can get my data back.

Possibly you had Photo Stream turned on. While iCloud Photos would sync your two devices both ways and also store all of the photos on iCloud, Photo Stream can allow new photos to be kept up to date on another device without storing all of your photos in iCloud.
