Safari web browser has suddenly started locking passwords -- how to remove...

I've seen this question asked over and over:

Safari web browser, instead of entering saved password,

a screen appears asking for my Safari password,

and then sometimes it enters the site password.

My work is interrupted by this extra step!

It's my computer, my password,

yet every time Safari tells me it knows my saved password,

but won't enter the saved password for the site

until I tell my computer again what my Safari password is.

Of course if I enter the Safari password every time it calls for it, it will proceed.

That isn't the point.

The question that has been asked so many times is,

"How do you eliminate PERMANENTLY Safari asking for my Safari password

before it will enter the saved password for the site I am entering?".

This is a new problem, 7/2019, after cleaning my computer.
