Airport Express Reset
We had a power failure and Airport Express will not reset..... Hardwired - changed cat 5 cable, contacted directly to router = soft reset - hard reset - factory reset- all tried.
Just flashes amber.....
Any other suggestions?

A flashing amber status light would be the "successful" result of a "factory default" reset. It indicates some additional attention is required to configure the base station. It could also indicate that a firmware update is available.

The Airport Express will not get on the network... Hardwired or wireless - just flashing amber... Therefore, I can get to it to even try to configure it.
After a Hard Reset or Factory Default Reset.......are you following the instructions on Page 14 in the Setup Guide that came with the AirPort Express to reconfigure it?
If you want the AirPort Express to "join" an existing WiFi network......and assuming that you are using a Mac.......
Click the WiFi menu at the top of the Mac's screen
Look for a listing of New AirPort Base Station
Just below that listing, click directly on AirPort Express
When you click on AirPort Express, that will start up the AirPort Utility setup "wizard". The setup utility will take a few seconds to analyze the network, and then suggest the correct setup for the AirPort Express to "join a wireless network"
In the example below, you can see that an AirPort Express will be set up to join a WiFi network named 2Wire902. The name of your WiFi network will appear on your screen.
If there are several WiFi networks in range of your Mac, you may need to select the WiFi network that you want the Express to join.
Base Station Name.......Type in a short name that you want to call the AirPort Express device
Password......Type in the name of the network that you want the AirPort Express to join
Verify......Type in the same password again to confirm
Click Next and the setup utility will configure the AirPort Express for you, assuming that the Express is operating correctly
If you are using an iPhone or iPad for the setup of the AirPort Express........
Go to the Home Screen on the device
Tap on Settings
Tap on WiFi
Look for the listing of Set Up New Base Station
Tap on AirPort Express
Have you tried temporarily connecting your computer directly to this Express by Ethernet, and then, use the AirPort Utility to try to access it?
What model express is it??
The A1xxx number is printed on the label but you need a magnifying glass and light in the right direction to read it.
Did you try to reconfigure the AirPort Express?

Include information about whether you are trying to use a Mac or an iPhone / iPad to reconfigure the Express.
Hi,
A1392 is the model...
The Airport Express will not get on the network... Hardwired or wireless - just flashing amber... Therefore, I can get to it to even try to configure it.
That did the trick - thanks...
If you performed a Hard Reset or Factory Default Reset, the Express........if it is operating correctly.......will need to be set up again using your Mac or an iPhone / iPad.
