Adding keywords to photos in iOS

Hi,

I'm about to go on a weeks holiday with my extended family. I will have my iPhone and iPad Pro with me. I expect to take a lot of photos. What is the best way to add keywords to the photos each evening given iOS doesn't seem to have that option. I'd prefer to do it each evening as I go, so I'm not left with a big stack to go through once I'm back at work. Any suggestions? I'd prefer to not create a duplicate photo in my library, but realise that might be necessary.

Thanks in advance.

Photos on the iPhone cannot even show you keywords and titles. Some third-party photo editing extensions can show you the full EXIF tags of a photos in Photos, and the full, paid versions of the apps will allow you to modify the exif tags. You Amy want to check out View Exif, Metapho, or Investigator at the AppStore.

Rhys,

indeed, when I purchased my first iPad 3 with iOS 8, we could add keywords to photos. iPhoto iOS on the iPad has been magnificent. We could add tags and titles, and create smart albums based on keywords. The iOS 9 update killed iPhoto on the iPad, and since then it has not been possible to add any information to photos other than to mutilate them by writing onto the photo with the markup extension, or to put the photos into albums and add the information to the album name.Or add a comment, when you share the photo to a shared album. Or use third-party photo extensions. But that is extremely clumsy.

I am no longer organizing photos on my iPad at all. I am always taking my MacBook Pro with me, when I am traveling and taking photos and annotate the photos on my MacBook Pro. If Apple would only bring the power of iPhoto back to the iPad Pro, it would be a lot more professional.

Thanks Leonie. I have at least found that using Search on the phone will show results based in keywords, but yes, you can't see them when you look at the photo into itself. It's very frustrating. I'm sure in previous versions you could add keywords on the phone, and it seems particularly strange to not have this feature on the iPad Pro given it is marketed as a laptop replacement. I've given Apple my feedback, but who knows if they'll listen.

Thanks for those suggestions, I'll check them out.

Rhys
