Can’t update Procreate app?

I’ve just learned that there is an update to my FAVORITE app on my iPad, Procreate. It was apparently released three months ago. I went into the App Store to download it today, but I couldn’t find Procreate at all through Search (weird) and the app was not one of the ones listed with available or recent updates. Instead, I followed a Google link to the Procreate page in the App Store. There is an “Update” button, but it is grayed out... with no explanation that I can find. Can anyone help??? I have a huge project to do and this update would be an absolute lifesaver.

How much available space do you have on your iPad?

If over the air won't work for you, connect your iPad to your computer and do the update via iTunes.

To install an update, you need at least double the space on your iPad - so a 2GB update requires at least 4GB free, and very likely more.

I thought I had just updated to that version, but after checking I realized it only downloaded and didn’t install. When I prompt it to install, it says “Unable to Install Update”. Any ideas what would cause that? I have space for it and a good internet connection.

I have 2G available... it’s not a lot, but it said that was what was required for the update. It has already downloaded too, so I thought that concern was no longer relevant? Does it need more space to install even though it’s downloaded already?

I don’t have a computer to plug into or an iTunes account. I could go to the library and create an account, but I was really hoping to start on the project tonight and not have to wait until I can make it out again. 😑

It's not only not much, it's simply NOT ENOUGH available memory. If you are running that low on your iPad, it's time to do some serious deletion on your device. Delete apps you don't need or don't use, as well as photos, music, text messages, emails, etc.

If you delete photos, remember they go to a recently deleted folder and stay there for up to 30 days. You can delete them fully from the recently deleted folder and they'll be gone.

After deleted as much as you can, reboot your device by pressing holding BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time (keep holding past the swipe to shut down) until you see the Apple Logo. This will help ensure all things you delete are gone from memory.

You can start on your project tonight, once you clear enough space on your iPad to complete the iOS update.

To use the very latest version of Procreate, you need iOS 12.3.1. What is the iOS version on your iPad?
