Connect to ITunes to restore my device

My iphone is disable and I am trying to restore it. I have reached to the restoration mode correctly but when I connect my device to my PC, the PC says device unrecognized..!! Please assist me in this case, any effort shall be highly appreciated, thank you.

This is how you do it: If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support

You have to connect it to PC first and then enter the recovery mode to restore it.

how do you connect to the pc when the iphone is disabled though?
