How to Delete Attachments from Messages in version 12.3.1

I followed instructions that I found on the internet (i.e., go to info for the message -> click on More ) and found that these do not apply anymore for the version that I have on iphone 7. What is the new way to delete attachments without deleting the conversations in messages?

iMessage attachments remain on phone after the message thread is deleted. My phone storage is getting used up so I deleted a lot of my iMessage threads. But when I go to my phones storage, all the attachments with those messages are saved still. To make it worse, I have to manually select each attachment to delete it, there is no "select all"! It's so frustrating. How can I "shut" that off that feature and have the attachments delete with the iMessage?

Pictures in Attachments in text messages I just got an iPhone 11 pro max. I restored it from an iCloud backup and everything came back BUT the messages and attachments in my conversations are not showing when you tap on the INFO icon on the top right corner of the screen. The only ones I can see are the stuff send AFTER the backup. However, if I scroll up in the actual conversations, they are there from before the restore too. Messages have always been back up on iCloud. Having them on the Info tab is super convenient. Anyone dealing with this?

Nothing has changed in iOS 12.3.1 as inferred by you.
