Sim not supported

Hi, I brought a new unlocked iPhone.

As it’s unlocked it should support any sim, right?

So I tried putting my SIM card and got a message Sim Card Not Supported.

It says contact apple for more help. So need your help in resolving this issue

Thank you

iPhone 7

No!

As the message you are showing states, the SIM must be from a supported carrier. Not all carriers are supported.

Choose your region and learn if your carrier is supported here.

I can confirm what stedman1 said about BestBuy. I don't know how many times I have had to help user who thought they bought an unlocked iPhone only to discover it was locked to the first carrier it saw on turn on.

Personally I would take it back to BestBuy and demand a refund. If they hesitate, I would start using the word 'fraud' in every other sentence and see if that get their attention. Dropping the 'fraud' word out with other customers has an amazing effect on sales personnel.
