MacBook Pro 15" and Apple Thunderbolt Display compatibility

I would like to know if my MacBook Pro 15" (early 2013) can be connected to an Apple Thunderbolt Display that I believed was launched in 2016. My MacBook has 2 thunderbolt ports but I am not sure if they are compatible with this monitor. The display model is Apple MC914LL/A Thunderbolt Display Port 2560x1440 27in
