Accessing Thumb Drives

How can I access a thumb drive on my iPad? I purchased an adapter but I don’t know how to see what files are available on the drive plugged into it.

This is a feature that Apple has announced will be available in iPadOS 13 when it is releases (presumably in a few months). Access will be through the "Files" app.

This feature, currently, is not available on iOS/iPads.

Currently, the only flash/thumb drives you can use for iPads are wireless ones that have a built-in Wifi transmitter from SanDisk or from Kingston.

And these may or may not work for any text document data, but for just music, images and videos.
