Can't Get Rid of a Network

I have an old wi-fi network that I cannot get to stop appearing in available networks.

I have deleted it from the list in my network preferences but it still appears, not just in the available networks on my desktop, but in anyone's list who visits my house.

How do I get rid of it?

I'm running High Sierra.

Unwanted network does not appear in Advanced Network Settings "Preferred" list. And "Ask to join . . . " is OFF. wifi networks I have a new network. But the machines (iMac, capsule, MacBook pro) often f-go back to an old network which isn't connected! How do I delete permanently an old network on the list?

How to remove remove managed wifi networks ? There are managed networks I want to remove . They are seen under Settings > Wi-Fi > Edit > “Managed Networks” (eg the ISP shared networks like Shaw, Spectrum, Xfinity etc use this feature). I want to remove them to ensure they’re not causing any issues with my connectivity. (asking to answer because other threads are locked)

It still appears because it still exists. The only way to make it go away is to shut down that network.
