phone disabled, cannot sync to iTunes

Hello!

my child managed to disable my iPhone, and it now asks me to Connect to iTunes.

Problem: on connecting phone to Mac via USB, nothing happens.

On doing to Devices > the sync option is greyed out.


what should we do next?

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 12
