  • Port number 993 with SSL enabled and the authentication box checked, if available
  • Outgoing Mail SettingsServer name: smtp.cox.net
  • Enter one of the following port numbers based on the encryption type.
    • If the encryption type is TLS or SSL/TLS, then use port 587.
    • If the only encryption option is SSL, then use port 465 and check the authentication box, if available.

Use SSL / TLS


  • Note: Some devices and email clients combine SSL and TLS into one authentication option of SSL/TLS. If there is no explicit TLS option, then choose the combined option of SSL/TLS, if available.Yes
