Does anybody know of an easy to use reliable app that will allow me to shoot stills in 2.39:1 aspect ratio on my iPhone please?

Note that the sensor aspect ratio is 4:3, so if you shoot anything other than 4:3 (the default) only part of the sensor will be used, and you will not get full resolution images. You can achieve the same result by shooting at the default, then crop the image to the desired aspect ratio.

There are apps on iTunes / App store which claims to shoot videos using the following aspect ratios.
(I would refrain from naming them as that would be interpreted as advertisement. )
Look for it yourself.
Up to a dozen different resolutions and aspect ratios including:
• HD Widescreen (16:9)
• Super 35 (2.39:1)
• Letterbox (2.20:1)
• Digital Cinema Initiative (17:9)
• Standard Definition (4:3)
• Ultra Panavision (2.76:1)
• Square (1:1)
Thanks for your help. I did check beforehand, but only found the one: Cinescope. And that was with "Widescreen photos" search criteria, the aspect ratio 2.39:1 (21:9) came up with something religious, and the rest were gambling games.
You're right, I was aware of that, but it's my preference to see what I shoot and finish with the end result as the same, it's less editing also.
I've always liked the "Super 35" aspect ratio, fortunately smartphone manufacturers are cottoning on to it now and releasing phones with image sensors of this size.
