iPhone X is behaving erratically and swipe button stops working while in use

My iPhone X has been behaving erratically lately. Keeps opening up different apps on its on while I am trying to use it, texting freezes up and or stops letting me type, and the swipe button will stop working while in an app making it difficult to get out of it or restart.

I have erased and reset my iPhone and set it up as new, but the phone behavior continues.

Anyone else experience this, and what did you do to fix it?
