iMessage not working

Hello hopefully you can help me, my iMessage is not working on my iPad. I’ve shut it down and done a hard reset, 2) I have done an upgrade to the software system, 3) I have shut off iMessages and restarted it, 4) I have reset my network settings and re-inputted my Wi-Fi information.

After all of this; my iMessages is still not working and it asks me to sign in however, the field is in light gray and no flashing cursor sign is presented.

Hello Maegmarlin,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that the option to sign in to iMessage is greyed out on your iPad. You've done a great job trying to get this resolved! I'm happy to help.

I recommend reinstalling iOS with iTunes. This step can resolve possible software issues. When reinstalling iOS, iTunes will completely remove your current software and install a fresh version. While iTunes will try to do this without removing data, it's a good idea to make sure you have a recent backup before trying this step.
