Hi, I was wondering if you could help with my iphone x query.
I have managed to disable the phone after entering the wrong pin number too many times which disabled it and prompted a message saying 'iphone disabled, connect to itunes, so I then updated it on itunes in the recovery mode, it seems to have downloaded what it needed to but now my screen has gone back to 'disabled, try again in one hour'... has my data been erased?

Do you have any back up? either on iCloud or iTunes. Put your phone into recovery mode and restore instead of update. If you doesn't have back up then your data is gone.

You might have mentioned that up front...
Make an appointment at the genius bar and get it fixed.
If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled
If the phone is in recovery mode, any data that was on it is already gone.

You have to put your device into recovery again and restore. iPhone stays in recovery for 10-15 mins only.

Its been in recovery for about an hour now, it just says swipe up to recover and then asks for my passcode but i cannot enter the passcode because my screen is broken (hence why i got into this disaster in the first place with locking myself out)... Its literally just a white screen and says 'swipe up to recover' - does this mean all data is lost?

On itunes it gave me the option to either 'restore'or 'update' and i pressed update? It says online the two are different. One will keep data and one will erase?
No back up but i attached it to itunes and pressed update instead of restore, now its giving me the option to swipe up to recover on my iphone which then asks me to enter my passcode
