Factory Reset of Old Phone

I have an older 5C phone I want to give to my child to play games. If I do a factory reset on it will it delete pics from icloud or on my current phone? Should I sign out of my icloud on that phone first?

Clearing Old Phone Just got the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the Apple Store guy transferred everything from my old phone to the new one. But my old phone still has all my photos, music, apps and works as a phone. How do I wipe it out so I can donate it to a new user?

Factory settings I have just transferred all my info onto a new iPad mini. I want to give my old one to my granddaughter. Will resetting the old one back to factory setting affect my new ipad.

Once your photos are backed up to iCloud they are safe. No need to sign out.
