content & privacy restrictions

When my iPad is powered on using my Apple ID, it short circuits the content and privacy restrictions for my son's phone. at the same time, my own phone is using my Apple ID. I cannot get any tech support bc they do not know why this is happening and also say that it isn't likely a bug that will be fixed in the next iOS update bc not enough people are experiencing it. I really don't want to have to create a completely separate Apple ID for the iPad. that seems stupid. SO....Anyone else experiencing this? Have you found a work around?

Apple IDs are PERSONAL. That means one per person. All Apple applications, parental controls and security are based on the assumption that Apple IDs will not be shared across users. Across devices used by the same person is fine, and is actually a best practice. But not between individuals, and especially not between an adult and a minor because it makes implementing parental controls impossible. You may not want to but you should. Apple IDs are not designed to be shared. If you do share them, you'll have all sorts of problems, including what you're seeing.

Is your son using the same Apple ID on his phone that you are using on your iPad? If so, you might try either creating a separate ID for your son or use the ID that is on the phone on your iPad.
